A lot of Caribbean citizens want to visit other islands in the region, but high travel costs have prevented many persons from doing so.
It’s with this in mind that a group called Citizens Against High Intra-Regional Caribbean Travel Taxes is again calling on the Caribbean political hierarchy to make this change happen.
According to Barbados Today Online, the group has submitted letters to various Government leaders along with signed petitions calling for a reduction in the prices associated with travel.
While the Caribbean is small, it costs a lot to travel to the various countries, especially from the northerly areas such as Jamaica to the Lesser Antilles.
It is now expected that these concerns will be raised at the next CARICOM meeting to be held in Barbados next year.
