COVID-19 kills six-day-old baby in Guyana

A six-day-old baby died from COVID-19 in Guyana.

The child is the youngest person to die from the virus in the Caribbean.

The fatality was one of two deaths that were recorded in the country in the past 24 hours.

However, the country’s Ministry of Health did not provide additional details.

The other deceased is a 31-year-old woman from Region 10. It is said that she died while receiving treatment at a medical facility.

The two deaths mean that Guyana has recorded 151 fatalities that have been linked to COVID-19. The country has also recorded 5,376 cases.
