COVID-19 Watch: Infections continue to slow as nearly 4,000 patients recover across the Caribbean

Great news, BUZZ fam!

Gaining on efforts to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Caribbean, infections continue to trend downward as most countries and territories report no new cases.

In fact, of the 31 affected territories, only the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Cuba, The Bahamas, Haiti and Bermuda confirmed new instances of infection over the 24-hour period—the lowest regionally since March.

As at 1:12 pm Greenwich Meridian Time (GMT) on Thursday (May 7), health departments across the Caribbean have confirmed a combined total of 14,634 cases of COVID-19.

Encouragingly, recoveries are on the rise as at least 3,982 patients have overcome the coronavirus disease; information for Puerto Rican recoveries was not available at the time of publication.
