Prominent attorney, Queen’s Counsel George Soutar, sent the missive to Campbell on Saturday on behalf of Vaz, claiming that he made defamatory comments against Vaz, in a social media post in a PNP Whatsapp group.

It is understood, that Campbell forwarded the letter from Soutar to the same WhatsApp group, which resulted in members accusing others of leaking the defamatory post.

According to reports, the post made damning allegations against Vaz, Prime Minister Andrew Holness, Group CEO of GraceKennedy Don Wehby, Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson, banker Curtis Martin and a prominent financial institution.

In the letter, Vaz wants Campbell to publicly apologise via social media and in both national newspapers, as well as discussing compensation for the damage the post has caused.

Vaz is the Minister Without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, with responsibility for land, environment, climate change and investments.

He was recently stripped of his United States of America visa and said he would resign if he does not get it back.
