Rusheen McDonald failed to advance to the 400m semi-finals.

Bahamas’ Steve Gardiner easily won Heat Five of the men’s 400 metres at the World Championships in Doha, Qatar on Tuesday as Jamaica’s Rusheen McDonald finished fifth and failed to advance to the semi-finals.

Gardiner cruised to 45.87 seconds to finish ahead of Philip Osei of Canada, who did 45.87 and Anthony Jose Zambrano of Columbia who clocked a time of 45.93.

McDonald, on the other hand, started slowly and tried to make up ground in the final 100 metres, but struggled as he finished in 46.21 and failed to move beyond the preliminary round.
