Jamaica won Heat One of the preliminary round to advance to the final of the women’s 4×400 metres relay at the World Championships in Doha, Qatar, on Saturday.

Jamaica finished the event in 3:25.78 minutes, which was a world-leading time before the United States of America erased it in the following heat with 3:22.96 to win.
Poland was second to Jamaica in 3:25.78 minutes with the third and final automatic qualifier for the final from the group being Canada, with a time of 3:25.96.
The Netherland, however, also made it to the final as one of two non-automatic qualifiers, which is based on time. They ran 3:27.40.
In the second heat, the USA won ahead of Great Britain, which did 3:24.99 minutes with Ukraine finishing third in a season best of 3:26.57. Belgium qualified on time with 3:26.68, which is a national record.
