Jamaica’s Yohan Blake is out of the men’s 200 metres at the World Championships in Doha, Qatar after the semi-finals on Monday (Sept 30).
Blake ran an excellent curve and came into the straight with the lead, but struggled badly in the homestretch to fade to sixth and fail to make the final.
Canada’s Andre DeGrasse, who ran easily to clock 20.08 seconds, won the event, with Kyle Greaux of Trinidad and Tobago ending second in 20.24. They were the two automatic athletes from the heat to advance to the final.
Zharnel Hughes who trains in Jamaica with Racers Track Club, but represents Great Britain, finished third in 20.30.
