Don’t discriminate against the Chinese, says Jamaica’s Health Minister

Jamaica’s Health Minister Dr Christopher Tufton is imploring Jamaicans to be mindful of how they treat Chinese nationals in light of the spread of the new coronovirus.

There are fears now developing that Chinese nationals and Chinese descendants could be stigmatised because the coronovirus started spreading in Wuhan, China.

However, the Minister highlighted that similar to Jamaica, the Chinese government is doing its best to try and deal with the crisis. He said that even though Jamaica has restricted travel to and from China, it doesn’t mean that the relationship between Jamaica and China has been changed, as the Asian country continues to invest heavily in Jamaica.
