It appears an apology was not enough to bring Elephant Man back in everyone’s good graces.
The dancehall artiste has been charged with breaching Section 8 (5) of the Immigration Act. This stipulates that persons arriving in Jamaica make a truthful declaration to immigration officers where they’re coming from upon arrival.
Last week, the Signal De Plane artiste found himself in hot water after staff at the Sangster International Airport claimed he had refused to declare that he was coming from a country on which Jamaica had imposed travel restrictions to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
According to police reports, a team from the Counter-Terrorism & Organised Crime Unit (C-TOC) visited Elephant Man’s home and served a summons. He is to appear in court on April 15.
