Former Reggae Boy Damion ‘Stew Peas’ Stewart has taken the coaching helm at Red Stripe Premier League outfit Harbour View FC.
Stewart replaces Howard Cephas, who quit as head coach in early October after taking up the position in July.
Stewart played international football for Jamaica between 1999 and 2012.
He played in different leagues across Europe as well as in Asia but was mainly in England, where he played for Bradford City, Queen’s Park Rangers, Bristol City and Notts County. Locally, Stewart has only played for Harbour View.
His priority will be to change the fortunes of the four-time league champions. Harbour View are currently in sixth position in the points standing, with 16 points from 11 matches. The second round of the preliminary stage begins on Sunday (Nov 17) and Harbour View will face Waterhouse at Waterhouse Stadium at 7:00 pm.
