Foul play not suspected after 20 people found dead on boat drifting near Turks and Caicos Islands

Authorities have ruled out foul play after a boat was found drifting near Grand Turk Island with 20 dead people on board.

Reports are that on Thursday (June 24) fishermen spotted the small boat at sea and alerted the marine branch of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force.

The vessel was towed ashore and the shocking discovery made.

In a news release, police communications officer, Takara Bain, said that cops had ruled out foul play and were looking at other possibilities.

According to Police Commissioner Trevor Botting, the boat appears to have come from outside the Caribbean noting that authorities did not believe the vessel was destined for  the Turks and Caicos  Islands.

The boat was found drifting about a mile off Grand Turk island among the dead are two children.
