Funeral arrangements for young Jamaican pilot Mark Daniel Scott are almost complete as the late 25-year-old will be laid to rest next Friday, May 29.
While the interment has not been disclosed, the celebration of Scott’s life will be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person.
The Wolmer’s Boys’ alum died last Tuesday (May 12) after the Piper PA-34 aircraft he was flying crashed in Miramar, Florida.
He was an advanced student enrolled with the Wayman Aviation flight school based in the southern US state.
The Jamaican, who was weeks away from completing his training, encountered difficulties just after takeoff.
After trying his best to attempt an emergency landing, the plane, registered to the school and with his instructor in tow, crashed on the south side of Pembroke Road before it burst into flames.
According to a Twitter page dedicated to Wolmer’s High, Mark Scott was a member of the school’s graduating class of 2011.
“Wolmer’s alum MARK SCOTT ’11, was the passionate young aviator whose Piper PA-34 airplane crashed near Pembroke/Hiatus Rd’s. He leaves a wife & fellow aviator, RACHEL who recently received her Commercial Pilot’s Licence,” @wolmersdotinfo tweeted.
