Government imposes travel restrictions on the UK

The Government of Jamaica has imposed travel restrictions on the United Kingdom effective tomorrow (March 14).

This decision was made after five of the eight confirmed coronavirus cases that are currently in Jamaica were imported from the UK.

“Only citizens and persons who have residences, and marriages, or long stay arrangement will be landed in the country. Persons who are landed will be required to be quarantined, based on the requirement by the Ministry of Health, this can be home, or in the necessary facilities,” Dunstan Bryan, Permanent Secretary in the Minister of Health said at a press conference on Friday.

Persons who arrive in the country before these travel restrictions were imposed are required to self-identity. These persons are asked to contact 1-888-ONE -LOVE, or email COVID-19@MOH@gov.jm.
