Holness marks ‘Read Across Jamaica Day’ in live stream

Even with the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, children continue to be taught remotely as schools remain closed.

Leading by example, Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness, yesterday observed “Read Across Jamaica Day” with a live broadcast of a special reading of ‘Sandy, Tosh and the Moo Cow’ by veteran broadcaster Paula-Anne Porter Jones.

The move was a departure from his annual visit to several schools where the readings would have been done in person.

The reading was streamed on the Prime Minister’s Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram pages and the Facebook pages of the Jamaica Information Service and the Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica, as well as on PBCJ TV.
