Jamaica records 419 virus cases; 5 deaths

Jamaica recorded 419 cases of the coronavirus and five deaths over the past 24 hours.

The results were returned from 1,749 tests, which put Jamaica’s positivity rate at 32.3 per cent.

The new confirmations take the island’s total to 29,387 with ages ranging from seven months to 98 years.

The death total now stands at 480.

The deceased are a 64, year-old female from Manchester; a 56-year-old female from Kingston and St Andrew; a 61-year-old male from Hanover and two deaths which were previously under investigation – a 41-year-old male from Westmoreland and an 84-year-old male from St James.

The country also has 309 hospitalised cases with 14 considered moderately ill and 43 are critically ill.

There were also 131 additional recoveries for a tally of 14,912.
