Jamaica’s May Pen Market vendors to get assistance

Vendors of the May Pen Market that were affected by the recent fire at the facility will receive cash grants from the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.

The help for the vendors is through the Ministry’s Rehabilitation and Compassionate Grant Programme.

With the assistance of the Clarendon Municipal Cooperation, it is understood that 94 registered vendors have been identified for the assistance.

On Sunday (Dec 1), a fire destroyed the May Pen Market, which caused the loss of goods for more than 200 vendors.
