Jamaica’s Trade Board has revised age limits for the importation of motor vehicles. The new policy will start immediately, the entity said in a release Thursday afternoon.
For the importation of motor cars, station wagons and SUVs, as well as busses and pick-up trucks (not exceeding 1,500 kg), the age limit has been increased from five to six years.
Small trucks with an unladen weight of 1,501 kg to 3,000 kg, pick-ups (exceeding 1,500 kg), panel vans and window vans and buses with a seating capacity of nine to 14 people, will now have an age limit of 10 years, up from six.
Commercial vehicles and large buses will now have importation age limits ranging from 12 to 30 years.
