Jose Mourinho is new manager of Tottenham Hotspur

Jose Mourinho named new manager of Tottenham Hotspur, replacing Mauricio Pochettino.

Following the shocking dismissal of Mauricio Pochettino on Tuesday (Nov 19), it has been confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur has hired Jose Mourinho as his replacement.

The former Manchester United and Chelsea manager has penned a contract with Tottenham until the end of the 2022-23 season.

The Daily Mail claims that Mourinho will ‘earn almost double the wage’ that Pochettino was getting at Tottenham and will take home £15million a year.

Upon his appointment, 56-year-old, Mourinho has said, “The quality in both the squad and the academy excites me. Working with these players is what has attracted me.”

Tottenham’s Chairman Daniel Levy welcomes Mourinho, stating, “In Jose we have one of the most successful managers in football.”
