The full fleet of buses operated by the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) returns on Thursday, September 26 to serve commuters in Kingston, St. Andrew and sections of St. Catherine.

The JUTC tweeted that as of 7 am, 274 buses have been deployed and expects the number to increase to meet demands for the rush hour commute later this afternoon.

“Good morning. We are pleased to report that we have resumed full service. As at 7am, we deployed 274 units and we anticipate this figure will increase throughout the course of the day. More bulletins will follow,” wrote the JUTC on Twitter.

JUTC drivers withdrew their services on Tuesday after a colleague was shot dead in the New Kingston area Monday night.
