Defending champions Kingston College (KC) battled to a 1-1 draw with Wolmer’s Boys’ School in the quarterfinals of the ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup schoolboy football competition on Tuesday (Nov 5) at Stadium East.
Dwayne Atkinson slotted home a spilt shot by Wolmer’s goalkeeper in the 17th minute to give KC the lead, with top marksman Renaldo Webster equalising in the 74th minute for Wolmer’s with a header.
The point earned enabled KC to remain at the top of Group G of the quarterfinals with four points and a goal difference of five. Wolmer’s, who are second, are also on four points but with a goal difference of one.
Two teams from the group will advance to the semifinals with all four teams having one match to play. Camperdown, on three points, can also move on, while Charlie Smith are out of contention.
