Kingston 62, formerly Appleton Special, has been rewarding its fast-fingered consumers leading up to the holiday season by way of its King Cola Wednesdays radio giveaways.
Callers were invited to take part in the Kingston 62 trivia for a chance to win their share of the $744,000 cash prize. Twelve customers walked away with $62,000 each during the 6-week activity.
Regional Marketing Manager, J. Wray and Nephew Limited, Kamal Powell, explained that the King Cola Wednesdays activity was the brand’s way of showing appreciation for the lovers of Kingston 62 who continue to support the brand throughout its journey.
“At its core, Kingston 62 represents the strength and tenacity of the Jamaican people. These are qualities that we can easily identify within our customer base, who have continued to support us every step of the way,” he said.
“King Cola Wednesdays has allowed us to show appreciation for these customers while spreading the word on our signature drink, King Cola.”
Kingston 62 is no stranger to celebrating its main supporters. In October, the brand launched its 62 Stops Virtual Tour, sharing its high energy with community bars across Jamaica. During the tour, bar owners and consumers alike were gifted free bottles of Kingston 62, branded T-shirts, and more, courtesy of the Kingston 62 team.

According to Powell, the King Cola Wednesdays activity is not so different from the Virtual Tour, in that both activities highlight the high energy and vibe of the Jamaican people, a contemporary expression of an independent Jamaica.
He said: “As supporters of Kingston 62 will know by now, the 62 in our name is inspired by the year of Jamaica’s independence. We believe that inspiring people to celebrate and giving them reasons to come together with a common interest is just another means of embracing our independence. Of course, we implore that our consumers are of legal drinking age and consume our products responsibly.”
