Man nabbed with cocaine while boarding flight in Jamaica

The Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, Jamaica.

A 27-year-old man was found to be in possession of five kilogrammes of cocaine while attempting to board a flight from the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, Jamaica to Barbados.

Police reports are that the construction worker was pulled from the flight after the drugs were discovered inside his luggage.

The bust led officers from the Narcotics Unit to several other locations in the Corporate Area where they seized an additional three kilogrammes of cocaine along with a licenced firearm.

The estimated street value for the total amount of cocaine seized is J$4.5 million.

Two men were arrested in connection with the incident.
