Organisers of the global pageant said a live telecast will be aired on May 16 when the 69th staging takes place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casini Hollywood.

It’s not yet known if an audience will be allowed at the event.

President of the Miss Universe Organization, Paula Shugart, in making the announcement today (March 3), said the body has spent months planning the execution of a safe competition which has not been held since December 2019.

The current Miss Universe is South Africa’s Zozibini Tunzi who has the distinction of being the longest reigning winner due to the delayed staging.
