Newcomers Molynes United will be looking to continue their fairytale start to the Red Stripe Premier League on Sunday, when they tackle Harbour View at the Harbour View Mini Stadium at 7 p.m.
Molynes have dismissed all they have faced in their six matches to lead the points standing on 18 points, two more than second-placed Waterhouse, with Harbour View third on 10, Humble Lion fourth on nine, Arnett Gardens fifth on eight and Cavalier sixth on seven.
So far, Molynes defeated defending champions Portmore United 3-0, UWI 3-2, Vere United 1-0, Arnett Gardens 2-1, Dunbeholden United 1-0 and Mount Pleasant Football Academy 1-0.
In their casualties, Molynes have taken out some of the league’s outstanding performers over the years. They have not set the competition alight with brilliant plays but have just been doing enough to win their matches.
Against four-time champions Harbour View, Molynes will face another stern test. Harbour View started with 2-1 and 3-0 victories over Mount Pleasant and Cavalier respectively, before Waterhouse hammered them 7-0 and then lost to Portmore 2-1.
Harbour View then drew 1-1 with Vere before defeating Dunbeholden 1-0 last Sunday.
Ryan Brown, who has netted three times and Nicholas Nelson with two goals will lead Molynes’ charge for victory, while Harbour View will be relying on Tevin Scott and Mark Alves, who have each scored twice.
