Matches in the first round of the ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup schoolboy football competition will now begin at 2:00 pm on the scheduled days, instead of the usual 3:30 pm.
The Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) said in a release on Tuesday (Sept 24), that the change is in “light of the current weather conditions”.
The change will come into effect on Wednesday (Sept 25).
The competition has seen a number of matches being affected by rain. Some failed to start while others had to be stopped.
This has caused a backlog of matches, which will have to be rescheduled by ISSA and played when all the factors are right, which will include the availability of referees and fields as well as teams being able to get the required rest days between matches.
