In a bid to make persons more aware of the challenges faced in fires and ensuring that all emergencies are taken seriously, the Fire Brigade was out in its numbers building awareness in over 120 communities this last week.
According to information coming from the Fire Brigade, since Monday (Oct. 28) personnel have been going into various communities across Jamaica where they have been speaking to persons, delivering pamphlets and other means to educate residents.
Also, a big target group was the children and according to a firefighter, it’s good when they try to teach the children about fire safety because they live what they learn.
Other activities were also held across the island such as simulations with one of them being an earthquake drill that was carried out at the Montego Bay Community College where students and staff were given a first-hand look at the skill sets of firefighters in tackling such emergencies.
