Phillip Paulwell elected PNP chairman; Dayton Campbell voted new general secretary

Phillip Paulwell was elected chairman of the People’s National Party (PNP), while Dr Dayton Campbell succeeded in his bid for general secretary.

Paulwell, a vice-president of the party, defeated Angela Brown Burke who was aiming to be the PNP’s first female chairman.

Meanwhile, Campbell beat former Deputy General Secretary Raymond Pryce to succeed Julian Robinson as the party general secretary.

Voting for both posts took place on the grounds of Jamaica College in St Andrew earlier today.

A total of 288 delegates voted in the election.
