Basil Waite, the People’s National Party (PNP) General Secretary, is now in hospital after testing positive for COVID-19.
It is understood that Waite was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) in Mona on Monday.
However, he was initially hospitalised on Sunday after being isolated at home.
Waite, BUZZ understands, was having difficulties to breathe.
Luckily, he is in stable condition.
Waite, a former PNP senator, lost the St Elizabeth North Eastern seat to the Jamaica Labour Party’s Delroy Slowley in September.
