Ruel Reid, wife and other co-accused offered bail

Former Education Minister Ruel Reid and his four co-accused were offered bail in the Corporate Area Parish Court Thursday afternoon (Oct 10).

Reid was offered bail in the sum of $3 million, his wife Sharen, $1 million, their daughter Sharelle $500,000, Caribbean Maritime Union President Fritz Pinnock, $2 million and JLP Councillor Kim Brown Lawrence (Brown’s Town Division, St Ann) $1 million.

The court ordered that their travel documents be seized and stop orders be placed on all five at the island’s ports.

The five were charged last night for breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act, conspiracy to defraud, misconduct in a public office at common law and breaches of the Proceeds of Crime Act.
