Wet weather is forecasted across the Northern Caribbean region for Thursday (June 24) into the weekend.
Data from the National Hurricane Centre (NHC) shows that forecasters are tracking two tropical waves, including one that emerged off the coast of Africa on Thursday.
The second wave, which is located near Barbados, has been downgraded.
Despite the downgrade, the tropical disturbance has been producing a broad area of showers and thunderstorms, with inclement weather reported in Barbados, Jamaica and Cayman.
In Cayman, thunderstorms have left several communities without power.
The system which is moving west-northwestward into the central Atlantic Ocean, is not expected to develop into a major storm due to the relatively cool ocean temperatures.
However, there is a 40 per cent chance of a small tropical depression developing by early next week.
