Tiger Woods in “good spirits” as he recovers from accident

Tiger Woods is said to be in “good spirits” as he recovers from a near-fatal accident earlier this week.

“Tiger and his family want to thank you all for the wonderful support and messages they have received over the past few days,” said a statement on Woods’s Twitter account. “We will not have any further updates at this time. Thank you for your continued privacy.”

Woods, a 15-time golf major champion, was involved in a rollover accident on Tuesday which left him nursing serious leg injuries.

He was transferred to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre for additional treatment on Thursday after having emergency surgery at the Harbour-UCLA Medical Centre the previous day.
