Jamaica’s Transport Authority (TA) and Island Traffic Authority (ITA) have teamed to open a new satellite office and a retrofitted depot on Barracks Road in Savanna-la-mar, Westmoreland, on Thursday.
The facility will assist both entities to improve customer service and provide greater access for the public in the region.
According to the TA, the new satellite office and retrofitted depot will offer testing and licensing of public passenger vehicles and commercial carriers.
This will be the third satellite office of the TA. The others are St Margaret’s Bay, Portland and Swansea District, Clarendon.
More than 3,000 commercial carriers and public passenger vehicles were processed during the licensing period that started February 18 last year.
