Two arrested after police find illegal backyard ganja farm in residential St James community

Approximately 241 ganja plants were seized by police attached to the Area One Narcotics Division on Wednesday (June 9).

Reports are that between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., an anti-narcotics operation was conducted at a two bedroom house on Atlantis Crescent in Bogue Village, St. James.

A quantity of ganja was seized, in addition to 241 ganja plants which were seen growing in the backyard and inside a bedroom in pots.

The drugs have an estimated street value of JMD 964,000.

Two men were charged under the Dangerous Drugs Act in connection with the seizure.

The men are scheduled to appear before the St. James Parish Court on June 30.
