Uber coming to Jamaica soon

Ride-sharing company Uber will be coming to Jamaica soon. It made the announcement in an email inviting drivers to sign up.

“Soon, Uber’s app will be available in Kingston and you will have a new alternative to earn moving around the city.”

Uber Technologies, Inc., commonly known as Uber, is an American technology company. Its services include ride-hailing, food delivery, package delivery, couriers, freight transportation.

It currently operates in more than 700 cities worldwide.

Uber’s first entry point in the Caribbean was through Trinidad and Tobago in 2017. But after a little over a year, its operation in the country was deemed illegal by the government of Trinidad and Tobago.
