Persons familiar with the Uber ride-sharing app will automatically think about getting a car to go somewhere.
However, now underway in New York, Uber has started transporting persons via helicopter. The initiative came alive in October and is therefore still very fresh.
The rides are now available for anyone once they can pay the US$200 to US$225 travelling to either Lower Manhattan or the JFK airport. The service also includes an Uber driver taking you to the helicopter and from the helicopter once you’ve landed.
Uber notes that this will save persons a lot of time in terms of commute as New York is notoriously known for its heavy traffic congestion.
Uber is also planning to expand the service in the future with more destinations for persons.
