Volcano erupts into a smiley face in Hawaii

What do you think this volcano is smiling about? (Photo: Live Science)

Y’all, we’re convinced that 2020 is totally messing with us!

In the latest in the series of weird events this year, we’ve been presented with a smiling volcano.

Yep, you read that right – an erupting volcano in Hawaii was all smiles as its lava reached the Pacific Ocean, something that hasn’t happened in three years, according to CNN.

The lava of Kilauea, a shield volcano on Hawaii’s biggest island, appeared to form a smiley face as it erupted.

The volcano has been active since 1983, with lava emerging from the Pu‘u ‘O‘o vent.

The video was taken from a helicopter by Mick Kalber of Tropical Visions Video last Tuesday.
