WHO says AstraZeneca vaccine is safe to use

The World Health Organisation (WHO) says the AstraZeneca vaccine is safe to use. Its assurance comes after several European countries suspended the use of the vaccine over fears it might cause blood clots.

The WHO says it is investigating the reports but maintains that it is an “excellent vaccine” and should continue to be used.

It reassures that no causal relationship had been established between the shot and the health problems reported.
